Patch 1 is live. Editions, known issues, and what Cold Iron has actually shipped.
This hub is the change log for Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 after the 25 August 2026 launch. Start with Patch 1 if you played a preview build — several perks, exploits, and platform crashes were rewritten the day before launch. For the story campaign, use the Campaign walkthrough. Current patch
Patch 1 (24 August 2026) is the day-one patch. It rebalances explosive Duelist perks, closes a 2.1-billion item duplication bug, restores companion-bot perks in multiplayer, adds region-based matchmaking, and fixes Xbox host crashes plus a PS5 DLC reset. Release platforms
The game launched 25 August 2026 on PC (Steam and Epic), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S with day-one crossplay. Co-op is peer-to-peer; Patch 1 added region matchmaking. A Nintendo Switch 2 version is planned for fall 2026 and is not in the launch pool.
Known issues after Patch 1
- PC stutter / uneven frame pacing — not in the Patch 1 notes. Cap FPS, drop volumetric effects, update drivers. See PC settings.
- Cross-platform voice — Patch 1 lists a voice-chat fix for mixed-platform friends. If dropouts remain, restart once; sessions are still P2P.
- Horde shop UI — some players still report a first-open miss. Wait ten seconds and retry.
- PS5 checkpoints — if a mission fails to save, use a manual save before leaving. Patch 1 fixed DLC items resetting after save/load; treat remaining checkpoint bugs as unverified.
Roadmap
Cold Iron and Daybreak have talked about more Horde maps, seasonal cosmetics, and balance patches. No public calendar was attached to launch. This hub will add dated entries when official notes land — do not treat rumour Discord posts as patch text.
