Game Editions & DLC

Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 launched 25 August 2026 with two numbered editions and one à-la-carte Romulus pack. Gameplay is not gated. If someone tells you Specialist, Horde maps, or weapons require Premium, they are describing cosmetics, not kits. For live patch math see Patch 1. For how the game plays see How to Play.

Standard Edition — $49.99 / €49.99

Standard is the complete co-op shooter: six classes (five at the start, Specialist after you rank the others), the six campaigns, dedicated Horde maps, crossplay, and the full gun list you earn in play. Cosmetics you unlock by playing — hats, colorways, decals from missions — are on Standard. You are not a second-class marine.

Buy Standard if you care about fireteams more than film lockers. You can add Rain’s pack later. You can buy the Premium upgrade for $19.99 if Ripley and Herk outfits start to matter.

40th Anniversary Premium Edition — $69.99 / €69.99

Premium is Standard plus two launch cosmetic packs themed to the broader Alien library:

Ripley’s Hive Exterminator Pack — outfit and weapon cosmetics in the Ripley / hive-exterminator lane (flamethrower and pulse-rifle skins, marine suit, decals). Visual only.

Herk Mondo’s Pest Pack — Herk Mondo outfit, extra customisation, charms. Visual only.

Daybreak listed those packs as part of Premium at launch. They are not sold separately on the same sheet as Rain’s pack. If you already own Standard, the Premium Edition Upgrade is $19.99 and grants the same cosmetic bundle without buying the game twice.

Patch 1 fixed cases where purchased Premium DLC was not granted, a missing premium decal in the collection screen, and PS5 DLC items resetting after save/load. If your locker looks empty after a crash, re-check entitlements before you repurchase.

Rain’s Jackson’s Star Pack — $9.99 / €9.99

Sold to every edition on 25 August. It is the Alien: Romulus lane: a modified Cryo weapon, Colony-inspired outfit, and a loadout of traits, perks, augments, decals, and colorways themed to Marie Raines “Rain” Carradine. It is not bundled into Premium in the launch press math — you buy it even if you paid $69.99, unless a store bundle later changes that.

Older wiki copy that listed this pack at $12.99 was wrong. Official launch SRP is $9.99.

What you should actually buy

Standard — default. All classes, all missions, all Horde. Spend the extra twenty dollars only if you want those two film-adjacent lockers on day one.

Premium — franchise fans who will wear Ripley/Herk in the hub and on the dropship. No extra damage.

Rain pack — Romulus fans and anyone who wants the Cryo cosmetic kit without pretending it is a seventh class.

Upgrade later — if Standard is enough this week, keep $19.99 for the upgrade instead of a second full purchase.

Platform stores (Steam, Epic, PlayStation, Xbox) list the same SRP in local currency. Regional taxes apply. There is no season pass at launch.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions about Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2.

Does Premium unlock better guns?

No. Signature weapons and campaign guns are earned in play. Premium is cosmetics. Patch 1 even had to fix DLC not granting and PS5 loadouts resetting — that is entitlement, not power.

Can I upgrade from Standard?

Yes. The 40th Anniversary Premium upgrade is $19.99 and adds the Ripley and Herk packs without buying the base game again.

Is Rain's pack inside Premium?

Not in the launch press breakdown. Premium is Ripley + Herk. Rain's Jackson's Star Pack is $9.99 on its own.

Will more DLC change this page?

When Daybreak posts a dated pack, this page will add a row. Until then, treat Discord leaks as unverified.
