Older marketing blurbs that listed $12.99 were wrong. Launch SRP is $9.99.

What is in the pack

Daybreak’s launch press lists:

  • A modified Cryo weapon inspired by Rain’s kit (pulse-rifle lane with cryo underbarrel fantasy 鈥?immobilise and shatter targets when elemental mods line up).
  • A signature Colony outfit themed to Rain Carradine / Jackson’s Star.
  • A loadout bundle of traits, perks, augments, decals, and colorways so the Romulus look reaches weapons and the marine.

The Cryo tool is the practical reason shooters buy the pack: Fireteam Elite 2 leans harder on elemental ammo than the 2021 game. Cryo pairs with crowd control habits already covered in Ammo & Melee and Sidearms. It is still a cosmetic-and-kit purchase, not a hidden damage tier that Standard players lack.

Horde previews showed Romulus-flavoured iron (including pulse-rifle skins) showing off weapon mods 鈥?treat that as fashion in the Horde shop, not a unique Horde unlock wall.

What Premium owners still pay for

40th Anniversary Premium ($69.99) includes Ripley’s Hive Exterminator Pack and Herk Mondo’s Pest Pack. It does not include Rain’s Jackson’s Star Pack in the launch press breakdown. Premium owners who want Romulus cosmetics buy the $9.99 pack on top. Standard owners who only want Rain skip the $19.99 Premium upgrade entirely.

Patch 1 fixed entitlement bugs (Premium DLC not granting, PS5 DLC resetting after save/load). If Rain items vanish after a crash, re-check store entitlements before you repurchase 鈥?Patch 1 and Known Issues.

Is it worth $9.99?

Buy it if you care about Alien: Romulus, want the Cryo cosmetic kit on day one, or like matching your marine to film lockers while you grind Specialist.

Skip it if you only want classes, campaign, and Horde. All of that is in Standard for $49.99. Weapons you earn through Hidden Caches and Intense clears matter more than film skins for clear times.

Wait if you expect a Switch 2 eShop bundle in September that might reshuffle SKUs 鈥?Switch 2.

How it fits progression

Nothing in Rain’s pack replaces ranking Marauder, Duelist, Machinist, Hunter, and Medic toward Specialist. Decals and colorways do not expand the 42-slot perk board. If a store page wording sounds like a power pass, it is marketing 鈥?gameplay patches stay free on the Updates hub.

How to equip it without wasting a night

  1. Buy the pack on your storefront, then restart the client once so entitlements refresh.
  2. Open the armory on the USS Endeavor and apply the Colony outfit plus the Cryo weapon skin before your next drop.
  3. Slot any included trait or augment boards that match your current class — do not rip a working Intense loadout apart for fashion mid-farm.
  4. Keep a thermal or electric primary ready for the faction the briefing actually shows; Cryo cosmetics do not replace elemental planning — Ammo & Melee.
  5. If you mainly play solo, the pack still works with companion bots; it does not change bot AI — How to Play Solo.

Players grinding How to Unlock Weapons should treat Rain as a locker upgrade after the first Intense cache loop, not before. Fashion does not help you find Hidden Caches.

  • Editions & DLC 鈥?Standard vs Premium vs Rain.
  • Weapons hub 鈥?primaries and augments you unlock in play.
  • Loadouts 鈥?class kits that do not require Romulus DLC.
  • Review 鈥?whether the base game is enough before cosmetics.
